We install beautiful patios at Artisan Building & Design, and if you want to put a new patio in your backyard, we are excited to get started on this project. Although you may assume that patios should be attached to a back door, this is not necessarily the case, and your patio can really go anywhere in your backyard.
Here are some things you should think about when picking out the best spot for your new patio:
- How you’ll use the patio—Patios can serve many purposes, from relaxation to entertaining. Think about how you plan on using your patio to determine where it should go in your yard. For example, if you plan on using it for outdoor barbecues, you’ll probably want it to go near your outdoor kitchen or grill.
- The views in your yard—What kind of views do you have in your backyard? Think about what you want to look at when you’re out on your patio and put it in a spot where you’ll be able to maximize your viewpoint of nature’s beauty.
- Whether you want a shade structure over your patio—Many people with patios prefer putting a pergola or some sort of shade structure over the top of them. If you have plans to put a shade structure over the top, make sure your patio spot will have enough room for this.
- How private you want your patio to be—If you want to connect with your neighbors, putting a patio in your front yard may be a good idea. But if you want to use your patio privately, tucking it away in your backyard is the way to go.
